Blockhouse Bay Boat Club has a calm atmosphere and feels like part of the Manukau Harbour as it stretches out into the sea. You can enjoy the sounds and views of the tide, as seabirds soar outside the window, and herons fish and nest in the huge Pohutakawa trees along the shore. 

The Boat Club has a spacious, carefully appointed 12 x 9 meter main area with a solid wood floor. There is also an upper room, which is great for guests who need to be specially catered for, including children. There is a covered lookout balcony, kitchen, all facilities for in-house catering, and an excellent sound and projection system. Up to 130 people can be accommodated. There is a grand piano in the room, too.

Our bunting can be easily hung from the steel rafters and we can create an aisle.

Three window-walls face the sea, with extensive covered decks for guests to linger on. There is about a 3-minute walk from the car park to the venue, which makes for a procession as people arrive for the event. This walk beside the water looks wonderful when decorated by bunting, which also helps people to find the entrance. The footpath and the Boat Club are wheelchair-accessible. This venue is suitable for funerals as you can have both the funeral and the reception in one location.
